A Jewish Perspective of the Sermon on the Mount

Category: Wednesday Nights

In spite of what you may have heard, the Sermon on the Mount was not spoken to Christians.  In fact, there wasn’t one single Christian present when Jesus taught that day.  No, these were all Jews.  Spoken by a Jew.  Communicated by a Jew.  Understood and only correctly interrupted in the context of first century Judaism.  Come prepared on Wednesday evenings to change your perspective and gain a more accurate understanding of the greatest sermon ever communicated by the greatest Rabbi who ever lived.

.

In this special series, Dr. Rik Wadge  introduces the Hebrew idioms, Jewish contexts, and rabbinic insights in Jesus’ most famous sermon.  He will be utilizing a new, Hebrew-based translation of the New Testament that allows English readers to see the Hebraisms of the Master’s teaching and the richness of the Hebrew words.   This new Hebrew/English Gospel translation is scheduled for release later this fall by First Fruits of Zion.  In addition to this new translation, Dr. Wadge utilizes the teachings from the oral Torah and Rabbinical teachings to provide a unique examination of the scriptures.  Join us on Wednesday evenings at 6:30 pm for “A Jewish Perspective of the Sermon on the Mount”.
